Button, Button. Who's got the Button? (Part II)

I'm still playing around with my big bag of vintage buttons.  So many fun designs.  The metal ones are my favorites.  I just picked this bunch out at random and did not realize until I uploaded the pic into the blog that so many of them were variations on the same design.

What's interesting to me are these little medallion like things I keep finding.  That doesn't seem like a very effective design for a button, but I'm not a sewing person, so what do I know?  I'm thinking these might be more useful as embellishments?  Many of them share the same designs as some of the buttons.

My favorites are Queen Elizabeth (second row, far right) and Napoleon (top row, second from left).  I also like all the crests and heraldry.

Which one is your favorite?

I like the silver fleur de lis the best! Love the buttons.

Embellishments I think.

I like them all - I would say embellishments or zipper pulls. I love finding odd tings in bags of buttons - did you find a penny? There's always a penny!

I'd say they were zipper pulls. I have found religious medals in with buttons. Always a nice surprise!

Cool embellishments! I love old buttons... I remember my mom having a big button tin and spending hours on rainy afternoons going through it.
